Northern Colorado softball, back-to-back Big Sky Conference champions, are in action to begin the season on Feb. 6-8 at the 2025 Puerto Vallarta College Challenge in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

After winning the Big Sky last season, the Bears would go on to face Oklahoma State and Michigan in the NCAA regionals, where they would lose, but it was an accomplishment in itself to have such a good season and get to the point of playing top-tier competition in mid-May.

Northern Colorado last appeared in the Challenge in 2019. Unfortunately, they lost all their games and were shut out against all four teams. However, this Bears' team is much better.

For its first game of the challenge, Northern Colorado will play No. 12 Florida State right after it concludes its game against Oklahoma State.

Feb. 6

• 1 p.m. – Florida State vs. Northern Colorado
• 4 p.m. – Northern Colorado vs. LA Tech

Feb. 7

• 7 p.m. – Northern Colorado vs. Oklahoma State

Feb. 8

• 1 p.m. – LA Tech vs. Northern Colorado

When Is The Puerto Vallarta Softball Tournament?

Session 1 for PVCC will take place February 6-9th followed by Session 2 from February 13-16th.

The Puerto Vallarta College Challenge is at Nancy Almaraz Field in Puerto Vallarta, Jal., Mexico.
