The Oregon State Beavers enter the 2025 softball season coming off some of their worst performances in the last decade.

A 15-29-1 overall 2023 season and 21-29 overall 2024 season highlight the struggles that the Beavers have seen since making their way to the Women's College World Series in 2022.

Oregon State Softball has been a successful program historically, with NCAA Tournament appearances in 14 seasons since 2000. 

But a move to the West Coast Conference has seemingly put the Beavers in a slump, losing a number of key players since.

The move might not have been ideal for the school or the players, but the Beavers will have to look past the conference shift if they want to move on and see a path to the WCWS again.

The 2025 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic will serve as an early-season test of grit for the Beavers, who hit the fields of Cathedral City, Calif., on Thursday, Feb. 20.
