Minnesota Softball put up a great fight for the postseason in 2024. Their 13-10 Big Ten record led them to a fifth-ranked placement in the Big Ten Softball Tournament, where they achieved a first-round win against Illinois in the ninth inning. Despite their early success, Big Ten tournament's No. 4 ranked Nebraska toppled the Golden Gophers 11-2, ending their season.

Now entering their seventh season since a Big Ten championship win, Minnesota Softball is looking to establish dominance early, with one of their first tests at the Mary Nutter Classic.

The 2025 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic hits the fields on Feb. 20-23 in Cathedral City, Calif. The Minnesota Golden Gophers will start play on Friday, Feb. 21.

Minnesota Softball was absent at the 2024 Mary Nutter Classic, instead competing in the UNT Invitational, winning one of five games in the competition in a 10-1 rout of New Mexico.
