High School Girls Impress At 2025 Warrior Open
Six high school girls placed in the elite division at the Warrior Women's Open, including three finalists and two champions.
High school girls continue to prove that the next generation has arrived. Three preps reached the Warrior Women's Open finals in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with two winning titles.
Below is a breakdown of the high schoolers who placed in the Maximus (elite) division with their place, high school, and national high school ranking.
Jaclyn Bouzakis, SO — 1st at 103 — Wyoming Seminary (Pa.), #2 at 105

1st Place Match - Jaclyn Bouzakis won by decision over Olivia Shore (Otterbein) (Dec 12-4)
Bouzakis defeated fellow high schooler Maddie Nieuwenhuis in the semis before downing 2022 NCWWC (NCAA) champion Olivia Shore, 12-4, in the finals.
Morgan Turner, JR — 1st at 110 — Lockport HS (Ill.), #1 at 105

1st Place Match - Morgan Turner over Tehani Soares (Indiana Tech) (TF 12-1)
Turner ended all her matches early, securing two techs and two falls after an injury default in the first round. She secured wins over two college All-Americans. Morales finished fourth at the 2024 NAIA Championships, and Soares is a four-time NAIA All-American (4-4-5-7).

1st Place Match - Esther Kolawole (William Penn) over Taina Fernandez (Dec 5-3)
Fernandez teched 2024 NAIA championship finalist Zaynah McBryde in the semis before falling to 2024 Olympian Ester Kolawole, 5-3, in the finals. Fernandez, 15, has two known losses during women’s competitions: one to Kolawole (Nigeria) and one to Alex Town (Canada) at the 2023 Princeton Open. Kolawole won a bronze medal at the 2024 U23 World Championships, and Town is a 2018 U23 World champion who was 28 when she defeated 14-year-old Fernandez.
