In a close-knit game, the WBS Penguins squeezed out a win over the Utica Comets on a night when 30 out of 32 teams in the AHL are in action.

Rutger McGroarty played a significant role in the win as he scored the first goal for the Penguins to tie the game up at one apiece after Shane Bowers gave the Comets the lead.

That tie would later be broken by the Penguins' Vasily Ponomarev, who scored similarly to the McGroarty goal, at the back door. The two gave the team a needed edge to avenge yesterday's loss.
