After one period of play, the Springfield Thunderbirds are up on the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 2-1 in a night full of action of the American Hockey League on FloHockey.

The Springfield Thunderbirds' first goal was scored by Mackenzie MacEachern, who scored his fifth goal on the season while the team was shorthanded on a power play.

Later on, Olle Lycksell for the Phantoms tied the game before Matthew Kessel helped wrestle away the lead once again.

The Thunderbirds have scored an insurance goal and are up 3-1 in the second period.
