Despite the setback of losing captain Sione Tuipulotu to a pectoral injury during training just weeks before Scotland's opening 2025 Six Nations match against Italy, the team still has a strong chance to secure some major victories.
Newly named co-captains Rory Darge and Finn Russell, who have firmly made their presence known in the 2024-2025 Investec Champions Cup season, will be crucial to Scotland’s campaign.

Rory Darge - Glasgow Warriors
Rory Darge, a 25-year old flanker from Edinburgh, has been taking steps up on the World Rugby stage since his debut against Wales in the 2022 Six Nations. Just two weeks later, he scored his first try for Scotland against eventual champion and Grand Slam winner, France.
Darge was selected for the 2023 Rugby World Cup team, where he went on to earn four tries over four games - three of which Scotland went on to win handily.
During the 2024-2025 Champions Cup pool rounds, Darge helped the Glasgow Warriors secure two wins, including 58 tackles, which put him third in the category.
Darge scored a try in their most recent win, a 29-19 victory over Racing 92.
Finn Russell - Bath Rugby
As one of Scotland's best rugby players, Finn Russell needs no introduction.
Representing the senior team of his home country since 2014, Russell started his first games for Scotland against the United States and Canada.
One year later, he already had established himself as a core piece of the team, starting each of the 2015 Six Nations games, until he was forced to miss a game due to a suspension from an upgraded yellow card.
Russell's first appearance in a Bath shirt came after Scotland's early departure from the 2023 Rugby World Cup, making the page-flip after spending his previous chapter with Racing 92.
This season, he has 10 conversions, one try and two penalties for 31 points (92% kicking success rate).
Russell is a strong contributor on both sides of the ball, boasting 21 tackles and a turnover, as well.
