Last year’s trip to the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic didn’t go well for the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, but the team will have a shot at redemption during the 2025 event in February.

The Rainbow Wahine returned to the Mary Nutter in 2024 for the first time since a four-year stretch of participation from 2008-2011.

The latest edition of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic will take place Feb. 20-23.

Hawai’i is coming off a 20-26 season that included a 13-12 record in Big West play. That latter was good enough for a fourth-place finish in the 10-team conference standings.

At the 2024 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, the Rainbow Wahine were 0-5, losing to Rutgers, Fresno State, California, Illinois and Tennessee. The skid was part of a 1-8 start to the season.

This season’s redemption tour for Hawai’i begins as the host of the Bank of Hawai’i Paradise Classic at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium (Feb. 6-8), followed by the Spring Fling Tournament at the same venue (Feb. 13-16).

After a one-off matchup with Cal Baptist, it’ll be time for the Mary Nutter.

The 2025 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic will feature 31 teams, headlined by Tennessee, Nebraska and Utah. Hawai’i will play BYU, Nevada, Saint Mary’s College of California, Loyola Marymount and San Diego State.

The Mary Nutter will take place from Feb. 20-23 at the unique Big League Dreams Complex, which has five fields available for the event.

About Big League Dreams Cathedral City

The Big League Dreams Sports Parks are scattered throughout the United States and provide recreational and tournament players of all ages the chance to compete on world-class fields, often built as replicas of famous stadiums from the storied history of Major League Baseball.

Along with the nostalgic fields, the Big League Dreams venues include a restaurant and bar, batting cages, play area for children, stadium seating and space for other sports (hockey, soccer, sand volleyball), events and competitions.

Big League Dreams Cathedral City was the first of the eight BLD properties to open, doing so in 1998. The park includes five fields. Among them, Boston’s Fenway Park, Chicago’s Wrigley Field and New York’s Yankee Stadium.
