TCS London Marathon CEO Hugh Brasher doesn't put it lightly when he says this year's London Marathon field may be the best ever assembled in the event's history.

"This is quite simply the greatest elite field in the history of the London Marathon," said Brasher in a statement.

And the now-released entry lists certainly back up that talk. All Olympic and Paralympic marathon champions from Paris will compete at the 2025 London Marathon, along with the 2024 men's and women's winners and a some of the fastest men and women to ever run the marathon distance.

The event, streaming live on FloTrack on, will take place on April 27.

Headliners already announced on the women's side include Olympic gold medalist Sifan Hassan, world record holder Ruth Chepngetich and reigning London Marathon champion Ruth Chepngetich. Joining them now on the start line is Tigst Assefa, the second-fastest woman in history and previous world record holder behind her 2:11:53 performance at the 2023 Berlin Marathon. 

Joyciline Jepkosgei, who won the London Marathon in 2021, and Alemu Megertu, who took home the win at the 2024 Valencia Marathon, will also be among the top contenders in the women's field. 

Six women in the field own marathon PRs under 2:17.

On the men's side, competing alongside Olympic champion Tamirat Tola and 2024 London champion Alexander Mutiso is Jacob Kiplimo, who is making his transition to the marathon distance for the first time in his career. Kiplimo has put together a legendary career on the track and cross country course, winning four World Cross Country titles and bronze in the 10,000m at the Tokyo Olympics and 2022 World Championships.

Joining Tola, Mutiso and Kiplimo at the top of the men's field is Sabastian Sawe, who stunned with a 2:02:05 performance at the 2024 Valencia Marathon for a win and the fastest marathon debut in history. Additionally, 2024 Berlin Marathon champion Milkesa Mengesha, 2024 NYC Marathon winner Adbi Nageeye and 2:02:55 marathoner Timothy Kiplagat will be athletes to watch in the loaded men's field.

Top Americans entered for the 2025 London Marathon include Kelvin Salvano on the men's side, who owns a PR of 2:11:26, and Susanna Sullivan, who placed as the top American at the Chicago Marathon last October.
