With another week in the books for the Women's Division III basketball season, the best team continues to show why they are just that.

The top six teams have stayed intact, as they are all undefeated, including NYU women's basketball, the defending champions.

Here is everything to know about this week's rankings.

Staying Undefeated Is Key

  • NYU earned 24 out of the 25 first-place votes after collecting its 12th win of the season over Brandeis, 95-41 at home, to keep an unbeaten record.
  • Last year's team was also undefeated, winning the national championship with a perfect season, going 31-0, which means they have won 43 straight games.
  • One big thing to note about NYU's streak is that nine of the last ten division champions have finished with perfect seasons.
  • That leaves the question of whether NYU can repeat as champions and whether the eventual champion will have a perfect season.
