The newest team in the ECHL set to drop the puck in 2025-26 will be called the Greensboro Gargoyles, calling Greensboro, N.C., and the First Horizon Coliseum home.

In addition to the team name, Greensboro also unveiled its logo during a press conference in Greensboro Tuesday night with this video:

The team, which will become the ECHL’s 30th member club, is owned by Zawyer Sports and Entertainment, which also owns the ECHL’s Jacksonville Icemen and Savannah Ghost Pirates.

Additionally, Spittin’ Chiclets hosts Paul Bissonnette, Ryan Whitney, Keith Yandle and Mike Grinnell have signed on as part owners of the team. Additionally, former Carolina Panthers long snapper J.J. Jansen is part of the ownership group, as announced Tuesday.

The ECHL will be making its return to Greensboro for the first time since 2004, but it’s hockey history dates back to the late 1950s.
