Bethune-Cookman will be among the 30-plus teams playing in the 2025 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, California, from Feb. 20-23.
The Bethune-Cookman softball team has become a regular participant at the famed Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, and that will remain true in 2025, with the Wildcats again scheduled to make the coast-to-coast trip.
This year’s visit to California will be made with redemption in mind, as Bethune-Cookman left the 2024 event without a victory, going 0-5 for the fourth consecutive time.
The last time the Wildcats won a game at the Mary Nutter was their opening contest in 2019, a 5-3 victory against top-25 Oregon.

The Wildcats are coming off a 20-32 season that ended just short of a chance to play for the Southwestern Athletic Conference title.
Despite their overall record, the Wildcats turned in a solid conference performance in 2024, going 16-8 to finish tied for second in the Eastern Division of the SWAC.
The last time Bethune-Cookman had a winning season was 2018.
The team’s 2025 campaign kicks off with the loaded NFCA Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Florida, which will include Tennessee and Nebraska (Feb. 7-9).
After a pair of games at home in Daytona Beach, Florida, against North Florida, the Wildcats will make the short trip to DeLand, Florida, for the Hatter Classic (Feb. 14-16).
Then, it’s time for BCU’s annual cross-country trip to California.
The 2025 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic will feature 31 teams, headlined by Tennessee, Nebraska and Utah. Bethune-Cookman is scheduled to play Nevada, UC Riverside, Cal State Fullerton, Rutgers and Fresno State.
The Mary Nutter will take place from Feb. 20-23 at the unique Big League Dreams Complex, which has five fields available for the event.
In its last appearance at the Mary Nutter in 2024, Bethune-Cookman was 0-5 with losses to BYU, Oregon State, San Diego State, Cal State Northridge and Loyola Marymount.

Along with the nostalgic fields, the Big League Dreams venues include a restaurant and bar, batting cages, play area for children, stadium seating and space for other sports (hockey, soccer, sand volleyball), events and competitions.
Big League Dreams Cathedral City was the first of the eight BLD properties to open, doing so in 1998. The park includes five fields. Among them, Boston’s Fenway Park, Chicago’s Wrigley Field and New York’s Yankee Stadium.
