Top Performances and Moments from the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational

This weekend, the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky, featured some standout performances that deserve the spotlight!

Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan Leads in Shot Put

One of the biggest highlights came from Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan of Ole Miss, who threw a NCAA-leading 20.51 meters in the shot put. With a performance like this early in the season, it’s clear why he’s on the 2025 Bowerman Watch List. Let’s not forget, Robinson-O'Hagan was the NCAA Indoor Champion in 2024, and it looks like he’s already gearing up for another big season.

Women’s 4x400m Relay: A Thrilling Showdown

The women’s 4x400m relay was another exciting race to watch. The professional relay team from Kentucky Elite Athletics—Christal Mosley (first leg), Masai Russell (second leg), Anavia Battle (third leg), and Devynne Charlton (anchor leg)—finished second, just behind the University of Kentucky's team, which opened the season with a 3:34.52. The race was a nail-biter, with UCF making a strong push toward the end, but they ran out of room in the final 30 meters, allowing Kentucky Elite Athletics to hold on to second place.

Women's 60m: A PR Bonanza

The women’s 60m final was a personal record party! Five out of the seven competitors set new PRs, with Kentucky senior Victoria Perrow leading the way. Her winning time of 7.25 seconds not only marked a personal best but also stands as the NCAA lead so far this season. Purdue sophomore Nia Wilson and Kentucky freshman Sharmelle Holmes rounded out the top three, both with impressive performances.

Synclair Savage Dominates Long Jump

Synclair Savage, Louisville senior, had a performance as bold as her name in the women’s long jump, soaring to a winning mark of 6.24 meters. Her jump also earned her a spot as the NCAA’s fourth-best performance so far this season.

Looking Ahead:

It’s only January, and the indoor season is already shaping up to be one to remember. With these early-season performances, we can expect a lot of excitement as the year unfolds!
