SFP Overtakes The Northampton Saints In Investec Champions Cup Round 3 Win
Northampton came out with an early dominance, but a rally before halftime and continuous scores in the second half led to a 45-35 win for Stade Francais.
The Northampton Saints have had early dominance in 2025, with wins in their first two games of the Investec Champions Cup, plus a one-point win against Bath in their first Premiership game of the year.
The first 17 minutes of Round 3 of the Champions Cup looked as if Northampton would continue its success, but Stade Francais wouldn’t be overlooked.
Despite not winning a game in the competition this year, Stade Francais cut an early 21-0 lead by Northampton to 21-19 at halftime.
After a back-and-forth battle in the first 10 minutes of the second half, Northampton lost the lead to a Samuel Ezeala try.

Stade Francais continued to deliver steady blows to Northampton, etching a win Saturday by a 45-35 final score.
Stade Francais Shaves Lead To Three Points In First Half Vs. Northampton
Northampton dominated early with a 21-0 lead from three conversions by Rory Hutchinson and two tries by Henry Pollock within the first 17 minutes.
But Stade Francais didn’t surrender, with a try from Peniasi Dakuwaqa in the 22nd minute to put them on the board.
One minute later, Zack Henry missed a conversion, but redeemed himself with two conversions before halftime.
Coupled with two other tries from JJ van der Mescht and Yoan Tanga, Stade Francais chopped the lead to two points, ending the half 21-19.
Stade Francais Runs Off With Lead In Second Half Vs. Northampton
After an early try and conversion from Northampton, Stade Francais continued the chaos from the first half, taking the lead in the 51st minute with a try from Samuel Ezeala.
Stade Francais continued to widen its lead, controlling the rest of the game. Stade Francais wins 45-35.

When Does The 2024-2025 Investec Champions Cup Begin? When Is The Champions Cup Final?
The Investec Champions Cup and the EPCR Challenge Cup begin Dec. 6, and the four-round pool-play action ends Jan. 19, 2025. The Round of 16 starts on April 4, while the quarterfinals are April 11-13. The semifinals are May 2-4.
The EPCR Championships weekend is in Cardiff, Wales, at Principality Stadium. There are championship games on May 23 (EPCR Challenge Cup) and May 24 (Investec Champions Cup).
