UNLV Dance Team At UDA College Nationals 2025: 5 Things To Know
The UNLV dance team made a run at a national title in 2024. Now, it’s time for the 2025 UDA College Nationals. Here are five things to know about the team.
The University of Nevada- Las Vegas dance team made a run at a hip hop national championship in 2024, but the squad came up a little bit short.
The team is headed back to Orlando, Florida, this month for the 2025 UCA/UDA College Cheerleading & Dance Team National Championship and will be looking for redemption at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The event will take place Jan. 17-19.

UNLV’s Rebel Girls & Company have been to the mountaintop before, so there’s no reason to believe they won’t be contenders again in 2025.
Let’s take a look at some things to know about the UNLV dance team ahead of the group taking the stage at UDA College Nationals 2025.
About The UNLV Dance Team
The UNLV dance team, known more officially as the UNLV Rebel Girls & Company, stays busy by dancing and cheering at UNLV football games and men’s basketball games, as well as serving as ambassadors for the school at other competitions and events withing the Las Vegas community.
The team’s continued success over the last dozen years has led to other opportunities, including performing on America’s Got Talent, representing dance as a sport for Red Bull, representing the United States in international competitions and performing at games for the NBA Summer League and the USA Sevens rugby team.
UNLV Dance Team’s Breakthrough Came In 2013
The UNLV dance team won its first national in 2013 and has been a national contender ever since.

UNLV Has Won 10 Titles At The UCA/UDA College Cheerleading & Dance Team National Championship
After breaking through with a Division IA Hip Hop national championship in 2013, the Rebel Girls & Company have been back to the winner’s circle many more times.
The next opportunity came in 2016, when the squad again won the DIA Hip Hop crown.
In 2018, the Rebels earned their first double victory at the national event, winning DIA Hip Hop and the DIA Game Day competition.
In 2019, the team added another pair of wins at the event, taking another hip hop championship and adding a win in the Division IA Game Day.
In 2020, it was Game Day glory once again.
In 2021, a virtual event due to COVID-19, the group again took the top spot in the Game Day category.
The 2023 campaign saw another double-dip for the Rebels, who reclaimed the DIA Hip Hop and DIA Game Day championships.
The Rebel Girls & Company Went Co-Ed In 2017
Former UNLV dancer turned head coach, Marca DeCastroverde, saw an opportunity to help creative and talented young men elevate their dance training and experience, while earning an education, and she helped turn the UNLV program co-ed in 2017.
The program was the first in the country with more than one male performer.
Sure, there has been some negativity to deflect, but the Rebels see themselves as trendsetters, as well as national champions.
UNLV Was Hip Hop Runner-Up At 2024 UDA College Nationals
The Rebel Girls & Company were denied their 11th national title last year, when Louisiana State University edged them in the hip hop competition at the 2024 edition of UDA College Nationals.
LSU finished with a score of 97.2222, while UNLV had 96.4921. The University of Memphis was third with 95.9365.
UNLV’s Game Day title defense also didn’t pan out, as the Rebels finished fifth overall.

UNLV Schedule At UCA/UDA College Nationals 2025
- UNLV will compete in the Division IA Dance Game Day semifinals on Jan. 17 at 9:54 a.m. (State Farm Field House).
- UNLV will compete in the All Girl Division IA Cheer Game Day semifinals on Jan. 17 at 12:09 p.m. (AdventHealth Arena - South).
- UNLV will compete in the All Girl Division IA Cheer semifinals on Jan. 18 at 12:30 p.m. (AdventHealth Arena - South).
- UNLV will compete in the DIA Pom semifinals on Jan. 18 at 12:43 p.m. (State Farm Field House).
- UNLV will compete in the DIA Hip Hop semifinals on Jan. 18 at 9:47 p.m. (AdventHealth Arena - South).

The entire event is streaming on Varsity TV and the new FloSports app beginning Jan. 17.
Event replays, highlights and breaking news will be available on both platforms.
