The No. 12 ranked WVU women's basketball team began the showcase with a lopsided 89-54 victory over High Point, demonstrating why they have been so dominant thus far.

It looked too easy for the Mountaineers out there from the opening tip, with the exhausting pressure of the full-court press during the entire game, which would create many Panthers turnovers.

Guard JJ Quinerly got things started for West Virginia with eight first-quarter points, and the rest of the team followed suit, mainly starting from the second quarter, as each team had a sloppy first quarter. Quinerly was the team's leading scorer with 22.

Most of the points would come from the paint or the mid-range area, as WVU only made two three-pointers throughout the game.

West Virginia women's basketball will play Boise State next after its thrilling victory over Illinois State earlier.
