DePaul vs No. 9 Kansas State tipped off at 2:00 p.m. ET in the 2024 Ball Dawgs Classic consolation game on Nov. 27. Read the game recap.

Final Score: Kansas State 92 - 66 DePaul

For Kansas State, the story of this game was the trio of Ayoka Lee (23 pts, 10 rebounds, 1 assist), Serena Sundell (15 pts, 6 rebounds, 11 assists), and Zyanna Walker (13 pts, 4 rebounds, 5 assists).

For DePaul, it was all Taylor Johnson-Matthews (17 pts, 4 rebounds, 1 assist) and Jorie Allen (17 pts, 3 rebounds, 4 assists). Freshman Ellery Minch had a strong showing as well with 9 points, going 3-5 from the three-point line.

Coming off of their recent loss to Duke, Kansas State was able to return to form against DePaul and reorient around their typical game to take home at least one win from Henderson, NV.

Third Quarter Score: Kansas State 73 - 50 DePaul

Second chance points have been a big difference for the Wildcats (18) today over DePaul (10).

Lee continued heating up throughout the third quarter for the Wildcats. Halfway through the quarter, she had already contributed 8 points and 3 rebounds, bringing her ever closer to the double-double.

In the paint, the Wildcats have dominated with 40 points over DePaul's 22. Blocks picked up considerably for K-State in the third.

Second Quarter Score: Kansas State 53 - 32 DePaul

As Kansas State strived to continue driving the paint and keeping the Blue Demons out of their paint, the game's physicality went up considerably throughout the second quarter.

The Wildcats' defense has been stalwart as expected, locking down DePaul from having many options when they go on the offensive.

After a 17-0 run by Kansas State, who else but Taylor Johnson-Matthews for DePaul broke the drought with her third FG, tallying her 6th point with eight minutes remaining.

Shortly after, Johnson-Matthews received a beautiful delivery from Jorie Allen to the top of the arc and nailed a three-pointer. She would eventually contribute 13 points total in the first half.

The long game opened up near the halfway point for K-State, making five straight attempts over a two minute stretch. Four of which were three-pointers, they extended their lead to 23 points with a little over four minutes remaining in the half.

Blue Demons freshman Ellery Minch made her first two shots, two triples coming off of the bench and ending another Kansas State run with about three and a half minutes to go.

In the final two minutes, fouls picked up a bit for Kansas State, tallying their 7th of the half, but the Wildcats were able to keep the ball rolling.

First Quarter Score: Kansas State 22 - 11 DePaul

DePaul has done a great job so far keeping up with the top-ten ranked Wildcats, but Kansas State's Serena Sundell and Ayoka Lee have been hard to stop as they drive up the pressure in the paint. The duo is responsible for 12 of Kansas State's points.

The high-low has been working easily for the Wildcats. For the latter half of the quarter, Kansas State went on a 4-minute long, 11-0 run over DePaul. Shakara McCline has been carrying the flag for DePaul with 5 points and 2-4 FGs.

A last second triple from Jaelyn Glenn sealed the deal and gave the Wildcats the 11-point lead.

First 5 Minutes: K-State Up 11-8 At First Media Timeout

Kansas State's Ayoka Lee was able to get things moving early for the Wildcats, scoring two of their first seven attempts. Taylor Johnson-Matthews put up a few good looks for the Blue Demons to keep DePaul in the game early.

Jaelyn Glenn went to the free throw line, making both attempts after a shooting foul was called on DePaul's Sumer Lee.

Taryn Sides sunk the first three-pointer again on a second chance and this Wildcats offense is off and running.
