Angelo State and Bemidji State will face off in the opening round of the 2024 NCAA Division II Playoffs. Here's everything you need to know.
Angelo State University missed the Division II Playoffs last season, so getting back into the 28-team bracket in 2024 was an important step for the Rams.
The next challenge they’ll face is the Bemidji State Beavers, who will travel to LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium in San Angelo, Texas, for the first round of the 2024 playoffs.
The game is a rematch of the second-round battle the squads had two years ago and will get underway Saturday at 2 p.m. Eastern.

This will be the second meeting in history between Angelo State and Bemidji State.
They first faced off in the second round of the 2022 postseason, with Angelo State winning 33-7. The Rams lost their next game to eventual national runner-up, Colorado School of Mines, 42-24.
Angelo State enters the 2024 playoffs at 9-2 overall and riding high after claiming the Lone Star Conference championship for the second time in three years.
The Rams were undefeated in conference play (9-0), including a 38-16 win over Western Oregon to lock up the title and a 56-19 rout of West Texas A&M to close out the regular season.
In the latest American Football Coaches Association Division II Coaches Poll, Angelo State earned the No. 16 spot, while Bemidji was not ranked, but did receive votes.
The Rams and Beavers are competing in the Super Region Four section of the playoff bracket. CSU-Pueblo earned a first-round bye as the top team in the Super Region Four rankings.
The winner in San Angelo on Saturday will meet the winner of the Central Washington-Western Colorado matchup.
Bemidji State enters the postseason at 8-3 on the year, which includes a 7-3 mark in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.
Augustana won the NSIC title for the second consecutive season, going 8-2 in conference play, while Bemidji tied for second place in the 13-team conference with Minnesota State and Sioux Falls.
A 17-10 win over top-20 Augustana in the final game of the regular season locked up the playoff berth for the Beavers.
Bemidji did make the playoffs in 2023, beating UT Permian Basin in the opening round (10-3), before losing to Central Washington (21-17).
