Currently ranked No. 4 in the nation, Texas women's basketball has begun the 2024-25 season undefeated, having easily dispatched their first three opponents.

The Longhorns are fresh off an Elite Eight run at the NCAA Tournament last season, during which they lost to Final Four-bound NC State. 

With that said, the Longhorns are headed towards their first real challenge at the 2024 Gulf South Showcase women's tournament. Teams like West Virginia, Butler, Boise State and Santa Clara will be attending the eight-team bracket with the hopes of bringing home some hardware. 

UT begins the tournament facing New Mexico State, before the winners and losers branch off into the consolation and semifinal brackets. Texas is set up on the opposite side of the bracket from No. 13 West Virginia, who should, if all goes to plan, meet the Longhorns in the Gulf South Showcase championship game.
