What to Know about the ForeverLawn Bowl
When: Saturday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. ET
Who: Hanover vs. Wabash
The Opendorse Bowl Series kicks off with Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference representative Hanover College taking on the North Coast Athletic Conference's Wabash College.
Hanover rides a six-game winning streak into the ForeverLawn Bowl, capping its 7-3 regular season with a dramatic, fourth-quarter comeback against rival Franklin College.
It wasn’t pretty. But it was physical, gritty, and EARNED. Just the way we like it.

Dual-threat quarterback Eian Roudebush capped an outstanding campaign with three passing touchdowns and a rushing score in the Panthers' Victory Bell win. Roudebush has 29 passing touchdowns in 2024 and eight straight games with multiple scores thrown.
Eric Roudebush is Eian's top target with 29 grabs for 455 yards and six touchdowns. He's one of seven Hanover pass-catchers with at least scoring receptions on the season.
The best description for the Hanover defense, meanwhile, could be a Wall. David Wall has four sacks, eight tackles for loss and eight quarterback hurries while Brian Wall has six tackles for loss and eight pass break-ups.
Wabash heads into the ForeverLawn Bowl at 8-2 after a 7-1 NCAC campaign. The Little Giants boast one of the most impressive histories in Div. III football, with current Eastern Michigan coach Chris Creighton passing the torch to Erik Raeburn, and now Don Morel continuing the winning tradition.
A stingy Wabash defense features five pass-rushers with at least three sacks this season. Mike Holsclaw has capitalized on the Little Giant' ability to generate pressure with four interceptions, including a win-sealing pick in Wabash's win over Denison.

On offense, the Little Giants had the only 1,000-yard rusher in the NCAC with running back Xavier Tyler. His 1,017 rank 29th among all Div. III players. The Little Giants balanced their prolific rushing attack with a steady passing game behind quarterback Brand Campbell Campbell completed more than 70 percent of his attempts and had 19 touchdowns against just two interceptions.
What to Know about the Extra Points Bowl
When: Saturday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. ET
Who: Marietta vs. Westminster
The second showcase of the inaugural Opendorse Bowl Series pits Marietta College of the OAC against the PAC's Westminster in the Extra Points Bowl.
When Andy Waddle took over at Marietta in 2013, the Pioneers were coming off a winless campaign and had last won more than six games in 1996. The program's steadily built up, reaching a crescendo in 2024 with Marietta's first eight-win season since 1995, and the opportunity to reach nine wins for the first time since 1906.
Plenty about the game has changed in the last 118 years, including the introduction of the forward pass — and the Pioneers have done that effectively in 2024. Quarterback Connor Vierstra has tossed for 2,403 yards and 24 touchdowns to pace the nation's 19th-highest scoring offense at more than 43 points per game.
A prolific tandem rushing look from Taz Morris and Vonte' Hodges have also been crucial to Marietta's potent offense, each flirting with 700 yards on the ground and combining for 17 touchdowns.
The potent Pioneers offense clashes with an outstanding Westminster defense. The Titans head into the Extra Points Bowl having held opponents to 15.3 points per game. Their 147.6 passing yards allowed per game rank 12th in all of Div. III.
Some credit for the outstanding pass defense belongs to Lamont Austin, with three interceptions on the season. Kevin Wright has two picks with six pass break-ups. Westminster's tough secondary presents an intriguing challenge to Marietta's efficient passing offense — and vice versa.
Meanwhile, Westminster can put up points if the Extra Points Bowl turns into a shootout. The Titans averaged 34.4 points per game in the regular season and put up 42-plus points on five occasions.

How To Qualify For NCAA Division 3 Football Playoffs
In 2024, a total of 40 teams will make the Division III football playoffs. The vast majority of the teams—28 in total—earn automatic bids by winning their respective conferences. All Division III conferences are considered except for the New England Small College Athletic Conference, which chooses not to participate in the Division 3 football playoffs.
In addition to the automatic bids, 12 teams receive at-large invitations. These are granted to teams that did not win their conference but still have strong records and resumes. Criteria like winning percentage, strength of schedule, and quality wins are considered.
In 2024, teams are to be divided into a new 40-team bracket. The playoff field is split into four regions, each consisting of 10 teams.
