Notes From The Week In FCS Football

• More teams fall out of rankings - Last week, teams like North Carolina Central, Dartmouth, and Chattanooga had brutal losses that prevented them from staying in the top 25 rankings. Although Chattanooga got back into the fold with a win over The Citadel, the other will face another week looking to get back into the top teams. Central Arkansas, William & Mary, and North Dakota are the teams this week that will join the challenge of looking to get ranked again.

  Shifts in the CAA standings - The most exciting week in the conference was when games came down to the wire. Rhode Island football lost to the soon-to-be FBS team in Delaware, Richmond football hit a game-winning field goal, and Stony Brook added to its momentum. Now, the conference has four teams with a CAA record of 5-1, shaping for a great finish to the regular season.

• New No. 1 in the CAA - The most exciting week in the conference was when games came down to the wire.   The Aggies get a big time ranked win - In a game that featured the highest-ranked matchup of the weekend, No. 4 UC Davis faced No. 7 Montana on the road and came out on top by a decently large margin. 

Worst Loser Of The Week: Southeast Missouri State Football

• Redhawks drop out of the top 10 - After a seven win streak, Southeast Missouri State fell to unranked Lindenwood only scoring 12 points on the road and losing its spot in the top ten in progress as they now the No. 13 team.

The FCS playoffs begin on November 30, 2024.

The 2024 Division I FCS College Football Championship game will be played on January 6, 2025, at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
