The Blazers were running like a well-oiled machine coming into this game, and that will continue into the final game of the regular season next week.

The No. 1 Valdosta State Blazers come away with another dominant win against a Gulf South opponent bringing them one step to a conference title.

We have seen the Blazers have big win at home but have this week they do it on the road against a hungry team in Delta State. With the win, Valdosta State football stays undefeated at 9-0 (5-0) and Delta State football drops to 5-4 (2-3). West Florida 7-2 (5-1) will be the next and last test for the Blazers to remain unbeaten going to the playoffs in Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.

Everything was going right for the No. 1 team from the beginning of the game. They scored a quick touchdown on their first drive and got a boost on special teams with a scoop and score after forcing Delta State on a three-and-out on its first drive. The defense also forced Delta State to three turnovers which would lead to 14 points for the Blazers.

Last week, Blake Hester was the bright spot in the backfield with three touchdowns , but this week team rushing touchdown leader running back, Alfonso Franklin got the hat trick today along with 107 rushing yards.
