William & Mary will welcome Elon to Walter J. Zable Stadium at Cary Field in Williamsburg, Virginia, this week for the 10th meeting in history between the two programs.

Though the Tribe hold a 5-4 advantage in the series, Elon has won the past two contests, including a 14-6 victory last year in North Carolina.

This one is extra important for William & Mary, as the Tribe have been in and out of the FCS playoff picture in recent weeks and can’t afford another setback.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Eastern, and the result will break a 2-2 tie between the two teams in games at Zable Stadium.

William & Mary enters the matchup at 6-3 overall and 3-2 in Coastal Athletic Association Football action. The Tribe are ranked No. 21 in the latest American Football Coaches Association FCS Coaches Poll, up from No. 24, thanks to a 45-7 win over North Carolina A&T last week.

Elon has endured some struggles this season, but the Phoenix also found themselves on the proper end of a rout last week, a 50-27 win against one of the CAA’s newer teams, Campbell.

Elon is 3-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play this year.

With three weeks of action left in the 2024 regular season for the 16-team CAA, Rhode Island and Richmond are tied atop the conference standings at 5-0. Delaware, Stony Brook and Villanova all are 4-1.

Villanova, UAlbany and Richmond shared the CAA Football title last season after they all finished the conference slate at 7-1.
