Castres Rugby missed the Top 14 playoffs by a razor-thin margin in 2023-2024, tying with Racing 92 at 62 points but losing the tie breaker that ended their playoff hopes.
This year, Castres is hoping to qualify for the playoffs comfortably.
The club went 13-0-13 last season, finishing seventh and thus qualifying for the 2024-2025 Investec Champions Cup. Castres, or Castres Olympique, was founded in 1906 and hails from Castres, France. The club last won the Top 14 championship in 2018.

Castres missed the Champions Cup last year but advanced out of pool play in the EPCR Challenge Cup before losing to Gloucester 30-25 in the Round of 16.
This year, they will play in the Investec Champions Cup, which starts on Dec.7, in Pool 3. By the time that tournament begins in December, however, they will be in the thick of the Top 14 season. The clubs opens Top 14 play on Sept. 7 against Racing 92 at 10:30 ET.
