Ferris State Football hopes to return to the apex of NCAA Division II in 2024 after squeaking into 2023 playoffs before losing to rival Grand Valley State in the first round. 

The 2022 NCAA Division II football champions played one of the toughest schedules in all of Division II in 2023, one that include a game against FCS power Montana. Neck and neck with Davenport for the second-spot in the 2023 GLIAC standings, the Bulldogs beat the Panthers 28-0 late in the season to help clinch a playoff spot.

GVSU vs. Ferris State: When Is The Anchor-Bone Classic?

The Bulldogs will play the Lakers on Oct. 26 at Lubbers Stadium at 3 p.m. It’ll be the second year in a row the two schools will play at Lubbers Stadium in the regular season. GVSU went 2-0 against its biggest rival. On Oct. 14, 2023, GVSU beat then No. 1 Ferris State 49-28, then won the rematch in the first round of the NCAA playoffs 21-14 on No. 18.
