After going 0-11 in 2023, Northern Michigan football is hoping to turn the page and show improvement in year two of Shane Richardson's tenure as head coach of his alma mater. 

Richardson made his name as a defensive coordinator and after building UNC Pembroke, he left for Northern Michigan in December 2022.

He won't have an easier schedule in 2024. The slate is filled a tough GLIAC schedule and challenging games against UW-La Crosse, one of the best Division III programs in the country, as well as Kentucky Wesleyan and Minnesota Duluth.
