The NCAA transfer portal window for 2024 closes on June 17, but one of the clear winners of transfer season became apparent well before that deadline.

With the additions of Olivia DiNardo (Arizona), Kylee Magee (Arizona State), and sisters Hannah and Lauren Camenzind (Arkansas), the Nebraska Cornhuskers hit a home run on the transfer portal market.

DiNardo leads to Lincoln after two standout seasons playing catcher and first base for Arizona. In 2023, she earned Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honors after posting the Wildcats' team-leading batting average of .382.

While DiNardo's batting average dipped as a sophomore to .295, she nearly doubled her home-run production from seven as a freshman to 13 this past season. DiNardo's addition of power to the Cornhuskers lineup complements the reinforcements Nebraska adds to its pitching rotation with Hannah Camenzind and Kayla Magee.

Magee, a Pac-12 All-Freshman selection in 2023, had her sophomore season cut short due to injury. She'll aim to regain her form from a debut season in which she struck out 59 batters over 75 innings of work.

For Hannah and Lauren Camenzind, meanwhile, joining the Huskers marks a homecoming for the Valley, Nebraska natives. Hannah is a former All-SEC honoree in her time at Arkansas and leaves Fayetteville with a career ERA of 3.11; a 14-3 record; and 49 strikeouts over 119 1/3 innings.

Lauren debuted with a flourish in 2023, connecting for 38 base hits and 19 RBI.

2024 National Pitcher of the Year NiJaree Canady Enters The Portal

The nation's top pitcher in the 2024 season, NiJaree Canady, is on her way out of Stanford.

Canady became the most prominent entrant into the spring transfer window, entering at the 23rd Hour with her departure from Stanford announced on June 17.

Known for her almost unhittable changeup, Canady finished each of the last two seasons with the Cardinal posting a sub-1.00 ERA. She went 17-3 with a 0.57 ERA and 218 strikeouts in 2023.

While her ERA climbed ever so slightly to 0.73 in 2024, Canady pitched almost 100 more innings in her second season at Stanford. She worked 230 2/3 innings (up from 135 in 2023) and struck out a whopping 337 batters.

Wherever Canady lands gets an immediate Women's College World Series-level boost to its 2025 forecast.

Oklahoma State Adds Three Power-Conference Transfers

A new era of the Big 12 Conference is on the horizon, with four-time reigning national champion Oklahoma exiting for the Southeastern Conference.

An Oklahoma State program that has been knocking on the door of national title contention in recent years aims to step up as the Big 12's benchmark, and the Cowgirls add three newcomers from power-conference programs to help ignite the process.

Pitcher RyLee Crandall (Baylor)

Moving from within the conference, Oklahoma State added former Baylor righty RyLee Crandall. Crandall spent the 2024 season as one of Baylor's two primary starters, logging 155 1/3 innings over 28 starts.

She posted a 3.20 ERA in the past season with 112 strikeouts and an opponent batting average of .255. In 2023, Crandall earned Big 12 All-Freshman recognition for her 3.05 ERA in 130 2/3 innings of work.

Catcher Amanda Hasler (NC State)

After a productive freshman season in 2023 — a .279 batting average with nine home runs and a .405 on-base percentage — Amanda Hasler returned with a monster 2024 for NC State.

Hasler batted .351 with 18 home runs and a .770 slugging percentage, a .444 on-base percentage, and drove in 45 runs over 53 starts. Her bat adds significant power to the Oklahoma State batting order, and her experience gives veteran savvy to the Cowgirls' battery.

Pitcher Ruby Meylan (Washington)

One of the best underclass pitchers of the past two seasons, Omaha native Ruby Meylan's return to the Midwest after two seasons at Washington has her poised to be the centerpiece of Oklahoma State's 2025.

Meylan earned All-American recognition as a true freshman in 2023, posting a 2.14 ERA with a .215 opponent batting average over 180 innings pitched. She punched out a staggering 204 batters in her first year, then added another 139 strikeouts as a sophomore.

With an ERA well below 3.00 in both of her collegiate seasons, Meylan joins the Big 12 primed to instantly be the league's most dominant starter.

Mid-Major Conference Stars Head To The SEC

Two of the nation's top players from mid-major conferences — catcher and utility player Mac Barbara (San Diego State) and catcher Alexis Pupillo (Northern Iowa) — make their way to the SEC for 2025.

Barbara led San Diego State with a .380 batting average and whopping 1.267 OPS in 2024, slugged .759 with an on-base percentage of .508, and homered 14 times. She blasted 45 total round-trippers over the past three seasons with the Aztecs, and now takes her big bat to Alabama in 2025.

Pupillo, meanwhile, heads to Texas A&M after two outstanding seasons at UNI. She hit .442 in 2024 with a remarkable .920 slugging percentage, a byproduct of her 16 home runs.

Pupillo homered 35 times in two seasons as a Panther.

Julia Apsel Lands at Florida State

Apsel takes her impressive resume to Florida State, where she'll help the Seminoles on their quest for a Women's College World Series championship in 2025.
