Charleston Baseball Hits Losing Streak, Liberty Baseball Visits
Chareleston baseball welcomes Liberty Flames baseball to Patriots Point as the Cougars look to move past their Nebraska losses.
Charleston baseball, reeling from a trio of losses at the hands of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, will welcome Liberty baseball to Patriots Point for a mid-week one-off. Both come into the matchup on three-game losing streaks.
The Cougars had gone 7-0 on the season before Nebraska came to South Carolina on Feb. 29 for four games (one was canceled). The three subsequent games were close, with Charleston losing by one run in two games, and by two runs in the finale.
Charleston standouts Trotter Harlan and Cole Mathis had relatively middling efforts in the first two games, before Mathis went 2-4 and Harlan smacked a homer in the final game. They'll look to get back on track against the Flames.
Liberty, meanwhile, took an extra-winning from CAA-member UNCW before dropping three to No. 18 Coastal Carolina.
The Flames sit at 5-6 on the year, while Charleston is currently 7-3.
