According to most 2024 preseason college baseball rankings, the SEC is, unsurprisingly, the best conference in college baseball. 

While ACC power Wake Forest Baseball is the consensus No.1, the top 10 includes eight teams from the SEC, including Arkansas, the SEC favorite according to coaches, and LSU, the defending NCAA champion, which are both ranked No.2 in polls.

The SEC has long been the top conference in college baseball. The league has won nine national championships since 2009 including the last four-- and all by four different programs in LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. 

Every team ranked in the top 10 (there are six) has a chance to win it all in Omaha. That includes  Tennessee Baseball, which is ranked as high as No. 8, who opens the season against Texas Tech at the College Baseball Showdown on Feb.16. 

Here is what to know about the SEC entering the season.

Who Will Win The SEC Baseball Title In 2024? Arkansas Baseball The Favorite

Defending NCAA champion LSU is picked to finish second in the SEC West and boot rival Arkansas is picked to win the league. 

Arkansas, which plays in the second weekend of the College Baseball Showdown, received 9 first-place votes from coaches to win the league. 

Florida was picked to win the East, beating out Tennessee, who opens the season against Texas Tech on Feb. 16 at the College Baseball Showdown.
