Hampton University Women's Basketball Schedule 2023-2024: What To Know
Hampton University Women's Basketball Schedule 2023-2024: What To Know
The Hampton women’s basketball team is young, and looking to replace a couple of talented players who have moved on. Here’s a look at their schedule.
The Hampton University women’s basketball team didn’t make a huge splash in the Coastal Athletic Association last season, and the conference’s coaches didn’t anticipate much improvement for the 2023-2024 campaign.
It’s not to say the Pirates aren’t capable of more than their No. 13 ranking in the 14-team CAA Women’s Basketball Preseason Poll, they’ll just have to go out there and prove themselves.
Hampton’s CAA debut last season ended with an 8-10 mark in conference games and an overall record of 12-18. The Pirates were one conference win from being a middle-of-the-pack team, which really isn’t a bad first season in an ultra-competitive group.

Hampton was one of three new teams in the conference last season, joining Monmouth and Stony Brook, followed by North Carolina A&T, while Campbell joins the fray this year.
The Pirates are led by the winningest coach in Hampton women’s basketball history, David Six, who enters his 15th season in charge with more than 260 wins with the program.
Six helped the team to multiple regular-season and tournament titles in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, before the Pirates made the move to the Big South Conference, and now the CAA.
The top weapon for Hampton during the 2023-2024 season is expected to be senior guard/forward Camryn Hill, who averaged 10.5 points and 3.2 rebounds per game last season.
The Pirates lost two of their standouts from last season—forward Nylah Young (third-team All-CAA) and guard Victoria Mason (CAA All-Defensive team). Young transferred to William & Mary, and Mason moved on to Lamar University.
For the 2023-2024 campaign, the Hampton roster includes five freshmen, three sophomores, four juniors and just three seniors.
Here’s a look at the Hampton University women’s basketball schedule for the 2023-2024 season.

The 2024 CAA Women’s Basketball Championship will be held March 13-17 at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.
It will come on the heels of the 2024 men’s event (March 8-12), as the conference and venue agreed to a four-year contract that will allow these championship tournaments to return each year through the 2026-2027 campaign.
The winner will earn an automatic berth into the Division I Women’s Basketball Championship.
When Is The 2024 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship?
The NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship will offer LSU the opportunity to defend its national title, won in March 2023 over Iowa, 102-85.
Selection Sunday, which will fall on March 17, is the day the 68 teams for the postseason bracket are announced.
The First Four will kick things off March 20-21, with eight teams (the four lowest-seeded automatic qualifiers and the four lowest-seeded at-large teams) battling for the opportunity to compete in the main 64-team bracket.
The road to the national championship will continue with the opening round of play (Round of 64) on March 22-23. The Round of 32 will take place March 24-25. The top 16 seeds will host the first- and second-round games.
Continuing with a tradition established in 2023, the Sweet 16 (regional semifinals) and Elite Eight (regional finals) will be held across two sites – Albany, New York, and Portland, Oregon. These rounds will take place March 29-April 1.
The 2024 women’s Final Four (national semifinals and national championship) will be held at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on April 5 and April 7, respectively.
