No. 9 Virginia Tech (4-1) and Kansas (2-2), the defending 2023 WNIT Champions, played one of the best games of the day at the 2023 Women's Cayman Islands Classic as the Hokies held on to win 59-58. 

Kansas had a chance to win with 5 seconds left, but Ryan Cobbins wasn't able to connect on a shot.

Elizabeth Kitley scored 31 for Virginia Tech and added 18 rebounds.  S'Mya Nichols added 13 and Zakiyah Franklin 12 points for Kansas.

Kansas will play No. 8 UConn at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 25 to finish the Cayman Islands Classic. Meanwhile Virginia Tech begins the final day in George Town with a game against Tulane at 11 a.m.
