The #1 ranked high school wrestler in the nation at 220lbs and the #7 recruit in the class of 2024 committed to Oklahoma State.
Cody Merrill, the #1 ranked high school wrestler in the nation at 220lbs and the #7 recruit in the class of 2024, announced his commitment to the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Merrill, a senior at Gilroy High School in California, recently competed at Who's Number One, where he defeated Sawyer Bartelt of South Dade, Florida, to cement his status as the top 220-pounder in the country.

Before his dominant performance at Who's Number One, Merrill went on a tear at the Junior National Championships, winning a freestyle title in Fargo at 220 pounds. Merrill had a similarly dominant run through a loaded bracket the year before at Fargo, making 2023 his second stop sign.

Merrill is the second 2024 Big Board to commit to the Cowboys. JJ McComas, the #68 ranked recruit in his class, has also committed to Oklahoma State.
