Joe Bachmann holds the top seed at 106 lbs. He secured U17 World bronze and Pan Am gold for Puerto Rico this summer and now looks to take over the top spot in the US with a Super 32 title. His path through the bracket could include a quarterfinal with either #9 Ezekiel Witt followed by a semifinal with either #19 Shamus Regan or #20 Caleb Noble. This is the first big domestic challenge Bachmann has faced at the high school level, but he's still the favorite to make the finals.
The opposite side of the bracket has 45 kg U17 World bronze medalist Ignacio Villasenor and 48 kg World Team Trials finalist Grey Burnett. The last time these two freshmen met was at Tulsa Nationals in 2021. Burnett took that one 3-0.
Rocco Cassioppi, Shamus Eagan, and Caleb Noble are also ranked freshmen in the mix. Wrestling fans should start getting familiar with those guys now. #16 Wyatt Lees and #17 Brett Owens round out the ranked wrestlers vying for spots on the podium, but this bracket will have no shortage of tough wrestlers who have yet to crack the top 20.
Predictions: 1) Ignacia Villasenior 2) Joe Bachmann 3) Grey Burnett 4) Rocco Cassioppi 5) Ezekiel Witt 6) Ayden Dodd 7) Wyatt Lees 8) Brett Swenson

Two U17 World champions are entered in this bracket, and neither one of them is the #1 seed. Two-time PIAA champ Aaron Seidel holds that distinction. Seidel beat World champ Dom Munaretto at this event a year ago en route to his third place finish. Paul Kenny, the other World champ in the mix, also beat Munaretto in a tight battle at the U13 World Team Trials.
16U Fargo champ Landon Sidun is entering his freshman year, but he is a serious factor in this bracket. He's racked up solid victories through the freestyle season at both 113 lbs and 120 lbs. He could even further establish himself in Greensboro.
Davis Motyka, Dru Ayala, Ayden Smith, and Tyler Garvin are all ranked seniors who have been on the national scene for years. None of them placed at Super 32 a year ago, but they're all capable.
In the Fargo Junior division at 113 lbs this summer, Seidel, Motyka, Jake Knight, and Ayala finished 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th respectively. Along the way, Ayala beat Motyka who beat Knight who beat Ayala, so the podium here is hard to predict.
Predictions: 1) Paul Kenny 2) Aaron Seidel 3) Domenic Munaretto 4) Davis Motyka 5) Landon Sidun 6) Jake Knight 7) Dru Ayala 8) Rocklin Zinkin

Both Anthony Knox and Christian Castillo already have Super 32 belts in their collection. Knox won at 106 lbs in 2021 and Castillo won at the same weight in 2022. Knox holds the top ranking in the country at 120 lbs while Castillo currently sits at #1 at 113 lbs. Knox's victory over Castillo at Who's Number One in 2022, along with his the stellar high school career he's put together so far, make him a clear favorite to win this weight.
Since moving up to 120 lbs this summer, Illinois' Seth Mendoza has notched several high-profile victories. He beat Nate Desmond, Gauge Botero, Ethan Rivera and Jackson Blum in Fargo then topped Jake Crapps at the Grappler Fall Classic. He appears to be on a semifinal collision course with Castillo who he's gone back and forth with during his career. Castillo has won their battles in the last year, but Mendoza's recent impressive performances suggest that semifinal could be as exciting as their matches normally tend to be.
This weight has plenty of threats after the top three seeds. PIAA champs #6 Nate Desmond, #9 Louie Gill, and #18 Keanu Dillard have all won in big moments in the past as have New Jersey state finalist #10 Dan Jones, NHSCA finalist #12 Ethan Rivera, and Minnesota state champ #13 Blake Beissel. This weight also has a long list of guys outside the top 20 with podium finishes at Fargo, NHSCAs, and other high level events who could create chaos.
Predictions: 1) Anthony Knox 2) Seth Mendoza 3) Christian Castillo 4) Nate Desmond 5) Louie Gill 6) Dan Jones 7) Ethan Rivera 8) Blake Beissel

Jax Forrest is the top seed at 126 lbs. He's won Fargo, Powerade, and a U17 World silver medal, but he's yet to win Super 32. In order to win his first title, he may need to get past either Jake Crapps or Mason Ziegler in the quarterfinals then either Jake Hockaday or Anthony Mutarelli in the semifinals. He hasn't wrestled Ziegler or Mutarelli in recent memory but just beat Hockaday at Elite 8 Duals last month. The most interesting potential rematch would be against Crapps. He and Forrest split in a heated series at Elite 8 Duals in 2022.
2 seed #9 JJ McComas and 3 seed #15 Nick O'Neill could meet in the semifinal on the bottom side of the bracket. McComas is seeded to have #14 Leo Maestas then either #6 Sebastian Degennaro or #16 Noah Nininger in his path before that, while O'Neill could see #12 Jackson Blum followed by either #10 Eren Sement or 2022 Super 32 placer Patrick O'Keefe if seeds hold.
Keep an eye on Tommy Verrette who finished 3rd at Fargo at 138 lbs but is dropping two weights for Super 32. Timothy Koester and Nikade Zinkin are also ranked wrestlers who could turn the seeds on their heads.
Predictions: 1) Jax Forrest 2) Sebastian Degennaro 3) Jake Hockaday 4) JJ McComas 5) Eren Sement 6) Jake Crapps 7) Jackson Blum 8) Nick O'Neill

#1 Ben Davino, #2 Kyler Larkin, and #3 Bo Bassett have all represented Team USA at the U17 World Championships, and they all also competed at Who's Number One this year. Now they'll enter the same bracket to battle for a Super 32 belt.
Davino and Bassett are each hunting for a second straight Super 32 title, while Larkin is looking for his first. Bassett hasn't competed against either Davino or Larkin, but Davino defeated Larkin in a tight 4-2 contest at WNO last month to defend his #1 ranking.
Davino vs Larkin at Who's Number One
Davino sits on the top of this bracket in the #1 seed. He could see #18 Billy Dekraker of Blair Academy in the round of 16 before squaring off with #13 Drew Gorman or a tough Yandro Soto in the quarterfinals. His potential semifinal opponents include #5 Sergio Vega and #9 Matthew Botello.
Larkin's likely path goes through Arizona freshman Dean Anderson in the round of 16, #10 Tahir Parkins or California freshman Jesse Grajeda in the quarterfinals and #6 Adrian Meza or #3 Bo Bassett in the semis.
At the #3 seed, Bo Bassett could see #17 Jayce Paridon in the round of 16 then either #6 Adrian Meza or #14 Brandt Harer in the quarterfinals before potential showdowns with Larkin in the semis and Davino in the finals. Bassett defeated Meza at PNL this spring in a freestyle bout, but the two haven't met in folkstyle.
Davino hasn't lost a match in the United States since April of 2022, and he's ran a gauntlet since then. In the last 16 months, he's won Fargo, Super 32, Ironman, the U17 World Team Trials and two times at Who's Number One. Now he'll be the favorite to add a second Super 32 belt to his collection in an absolutely loaded bracket.
Predictions: 1) Ben Davino 2) Kyler Larkin 3) Bo Bassett 4) Sergio Vega 5) Adrian Meza 6) Matthew Botello 7) Tahir Parkins 8) Drew Gorman

#4 Landon Robideau sits atop this bracket while fellow Minnesotan #12 Alex Braun holds down the second seed. One of the most exciting potential matches in the round of 16 could feature #10 Dalton Perry and #11 Sam Herring. The winner of that match would expect to see Robideu, an opponent both Herring and Perry have defeated in freestyle.
Other serious contenders on the top half of the bracket include #6 Omar Ayoub and #4 (132 lbs) Cooper Hilton. Those to are seeded to see one another in a quarterfinal which would be their first meeting to my knowledge.
Braun's side of the bracket has a potential round of 16 match between #9 Maddox Shaw and recent Grappler Fall Classic Gunner Andrick and a potential quarterfinal between #5 Paul Kelly and #8 Luke Simcox. Simcox actually beat Kelly in the round of 128 here a year ago, so Kelly could be on the hunt for revenge.
Carlos Stanton, Blue Stiffler, Jacob Myers, Joe Toscano, and Daishun Powe round out the list of ranked wrestlers. All have been competing well lately, so keep them on your radar.
Predictions: 1) Landon Robideau 2) Cooper Hilton 3) Paul Kelly 4) Omar Ayoub 5) Luke Simcox 6) Joseph Toscano 7) Maddox Shaw 8) Dalton Perry

A Who's Number One rematch could be brewing at 144 lbs between #1 Pierson Manville and #2 Kollin Rath. Manville narrowly won their WNO contest to move their series to 2-2. A rubber match for a Super 32 belt would be fitting, but there are plenty of challengers who could break up the reunion.
Manville vs Rath at Who's Number One
Kollin Rath will need to be prepared for #6 Melvin Miller who he could see in the round of 16. The Bishop McCort freshman is coming off a Fargo title this summer and several undefeated weekends of tough fall competition. #4 Jaxon Joy, #14 Gabriel Bouyssou, and #16 Anthony Evanitsky are also ranked opponents on Rath's side of the bracket.
The top side features #7 Cam Catrabone, #9 August Hibler, #11 Beau Hickman, #15 Jason Kwaak, and #20 Kane Naaktgeboren.
Predictions: 1) Pierson Manville 2) Kollin Rath 3) Jaxon Joy 4) Melvin Miller 5) Cam Catrabone 6) August Hibler 7) Beau Hickman 8) Jason Kwaak

Iowa commit Miguel Estrada is in line for a fourth state title in the ultra-competitive single-class California state tournament. He's established himself as one of the nation's top middle-weights, but he hasn't competed much outside of his home state. He'll be largely unknown to this field of 10 ranked wrestlers, and that's what makes him such an intriguing member of this bracket.
On Estrada's side of the bracket, #6 Claudio Torres, #10 Ethan Parco, #19 Ryan Ford, and HM Hunter Sturgill all present challenges. Each of these wrestlers has had big moments but lacked the consistency of Estrada or top seed Vince Bouzakis.
2022 Super 32 finalist Vince Bouzakis is riding a Fargo title and a U17 Trials finals appearance. His consistent performance on big stages just might make him the favorite to win the belt this year.
Bouzakis's quarterfinal, if seeds hold, would be against either #11 Zach Ballante or Gianni Maldonado. Ballante balled out at Elite 8 Duals with a 4-0 performance including three ranked wins. He might be ready for another big weekend in Greensboro. Should Bouzakis pass that test, he'd likely see either #7 Kody Routledge or #7 (160) Collin Gaj. Routledge lost to Gaj here last year but has defeated him in Fargo the last two years. Bouzakis fans may be pulling for Routledge in the rematch as Vince has defeated Routledge but fallen to Gaj in the past.
Predictions: 1) Vince Bouzakis 2) Miguel Estrada 3) Collin Gaj 4) Claudio Torres 5) Kody Routledge 6) Ethan Parco 7) Zach Ballante 8) Logan Rozynski

*UPDATE: since this section was originally written, Joe Sealey was removed from the entry list.
Super 32 is always packed with ranked wrestlers, incredible matchups, and deep brackets, but the 2023 version is shaping up to be one of the best high school tournaments in recent memory. Perhaps the best example of the quality of this year's tournament is a 157 lbs bracket featuring the 2022 and 2023 U17 World Champions, Joe Sealey and LaDarion Lockett.
Sealey and Lockett met at Elite 8 Duals in the spring of 2022 at the end of Sealey's sophomore year and Lockett's freshman year. That was before either had made a World team. Since then, the two have been in the same bracket at both the U17 World Team Trials and Ironman, but the rematch had failed to materialize. Also, and more importantly, since then, both Sealey and Lockett have secured gold medals at the U17 World Championships.
Before Lockett and Sealey can meet in the Super 32 finals with a belt on the line, both will need to navigate a loaded bracket that includes 11 top-twenty-ranked wrestlers and dozes more of dangerous foes.
Sealey holds the top seed in this bracket. If seeds hold, his path could include Grayson Woodcock in the round of 16, either Christopher Crawford or Philip Lamka in the quarterfinals, and either #9 Cory Thomas or #14 Matt Henrich in the semifinals. That group contains multiple ranked wrestlers along with Sealey's teammate, Crawford, who was inside the top-20 until recently. Still, Sealey will be the favorite to make the finals.
Lockett's path to the finals could include Jake Dailey in the round of 16, #13 Leo Contino or #18 Andrew Barbosa in the quarterfinals and either #5 Conner Harer or #11 Latrell Schafer in the semifinals. As the #2 seed, Lockett is certainly on the tougher side of the bracket. PIAA and NHSCA champ Harer is the highest ranked opponent in his way, but NC State commit Latrell Schafer also looms large as he defeated Lockett at Elite 8 Duals last fall.
2024 Penn State commit Sealey and Lockett, one of the top recruits in the class of 2025, are certainly the favorites. If each can each take care of business in the early rounds, they'll meet for the first time in a folkstyle match with a lot on the line. 157 lbs at Super 32 is a can't-miss bracket for wrestling fans.
Predictions: 1) Joe Sealey 2) Ladarion Lockett 3) Conner Harer 4) Cory Thomas 5) Latrell Schafer 6) Leo Contino 7) Matthew Henrich 8) Andrew Barbosa

The top two seeds in this bracket, #3 Ethan Birden and #6 Alessio Perentin, haven't crossed paths in high school competition. They're on pace for a fun final that would be a clash of styles, but both will need to navigate challenging paths to the finals.
Birden established himself as a top-tier middleweight at Ironman last year when he beat current #1 Joe Sealey. He'll likely need to get past either #18 Max Norman or #19 Kendrick Hodge in the quarterfinals then either #11 Latrell Schafer or #12 Jordan Chapman in the semifinals. He recently beat Norman and Hodge at Elite 8 Duals in September and beat Schafer last year at Fargo and at Junior Duals. He has yet to wrestle Chapman.
Perentin could need to get past either #13 Shawn Taylor or HM Ryan Garvick in the quarterfinals followed by either #8 Nicholas Kunstek or #9 Dominic Bambinelli in the semis. Of that group, Perentin has defeated Kunstek but fell to Bambinelli at Super 32 a year ago.
This weight could see chaos as #12 Jed Wester and #18 Elijah Penton are unseeded, #15 Hunter Snyder is seeded 17th, #17 Gunner Holland is seeded 18th, and #19 Oliver Howard is seeded 24th.
Predictions: 1) Ethan Birden 2) Alessio Perentin 3) Nick Kunstek 4) Dominic Bambinelli 5) Jordan Chapman 6) Jed Wester 7) Shawn Taylor 8) Hunter Snyder

This bracket combines some of the best wrestlers from the 170 lbs rankings and the 182 lbs rankings. Cole Han-Lindemyer (#4 at 182 lbs) and Adam Waters (#5 at 170 lbs) have the top two seeds, and they have yet to meet in competition.
Han-Lindemyer's path could run through either Israel Perez or Jonathan Rocha in the quarterfinals followed by either #6 Ryan Burton or #13 Angelo Posada in the semis. He beat Posada at Elite 8 Duals last month.
Waters will probably need to get past Tyler Secoy or Carson Thomas in the quarterfinals then either #13 Bryce Burkett or #10 Dominic Federici in the semis. He beat Burkett at the U17 Trials but hasn't faced the other three opponents.
#20 Connor McCloskey sits at the 12 seed and could cause some havoc on the top half of the bracket, and #19 Landon Jones is unseeded. Keep an eye on those two Georgians as potential bracket busters.
Predictions: 1) Adam Waters 2) Cole Han-Lindemyer 3) Ryan Burton 4) Dominic Federici 5) Angelo Posada 6) Bryce Burkett 7) Landon Jones 8) Conor McCloskey

For a while, Aeoden Sinclair vs Rune Lawrence has been one of the most exciting potential upper-weight matches in high school wrestling, but we haven't seen it. These two were in the same bracket a year ago, but a meeting didn't materialize. Now, they're the top two seeds at 190 lbs.
Sinclair, who secured the top spot in the country at Who's Number One, could see #12 Cade Ziola or #18 Ryland Whitworth in the quarterfinals then either #6 Tucker Hogan or #8 Vincenzo Lavalle in the semifinals. The Hogan vs Lavalley quarterfinal should be an exciting match that wrestling fans won't want to miss.
On the bottom half of the bracket, 3x PIAA champ Rune Lawrence has plenty of tough competition. He could see #10 Marco Christiansen in the quarterfinals then either #2 Harvey Ludington or #7 Karson Tompkins in the semis. Tompkins recently lost to Ludington, so we just might get a Ludington vs Lawrence semifinal. Lawrence won their last matchup at Journeymen in 2022.
#16 Gunner Henry is competing out of the 11 seed, so the bottom half of the bracket will need to watch out for him.
Predictions: 1) Aeoden Sinclair 2) Harvey Ludington 3) Rune Lawrence 4) Tucker Hogan 5) Karson Tompkins 6) Vincenzo Lavalle 7) Marco Christiansen 8) Cade Ziola

Iowa phenom Dreshaun Ross is moving up a weight for the nation's toughest folkstyle tournament, and he'll have no shortage of tough opponents to prove himself against. Normally, the highest weights have the fewest ranked wrestlers, but 215 lbs this year has 12 in the top twenty.
Ross holds the second seed behind returning Super 32 champ Jude Correa. Ross was in Correa's weight a year ago but wen't 0-2 during his freshman campaign. Since that time, he won Preseason Nationals, and Iowa state title, Fargo, and made the finals of the U17 World Team Trials.
If seeds hold, Correa will need to beat #11 Cy Kruse in the quarterfinals then either #13 Dillon Bechtold or Rylan Kuhn in the semifinals. Ross would need to beat either #10 Oscar Williams or #15 Quin Morgan in the quarterfinals followed by either #12 Michael Mocco or #17 Hudson Skove in the semis. Both the Williams vs Morgan and Mocco vs Skove matches could be fun. Morgan pinned Fargo champ Mocco at Journeymen before falling to his Pinnacle teammate Cy Kruse in the finals.
Morgan's fall over Mocco at Journeymen
Before dropping his match to Morgan at Journeymen, Michael Mocco won Fargo in dominant fashion. While his loss moved him down the rankings a bit, he's still one of the most exciting upper-weight prospects in the country, so a potential semifinal between Mocco and Ross would be one of the most highly anticipated bouts of the tournament.
Predictions: 1) Jude Correa 2) Dreshaun Ross 3) Michael Mocco 4) Aidan Schlett 5) Oscar Williams 6) Cy Kruse 7) Quin Morgan 8) Dillon Bechtold

#12 Nicholas Sahakian holds the top seed at heavyweight, #6 Spencer Lanosga is seeded second, and returning champ #8 Parker Ferrell is seeded third.
We could see #10 Daniel Herrera vs #14 Rocco Dellagatta in the quarterfinals with the winner seeded to see Sahakian. On the bottom side of the bracket, Ferrell and #15 Nick Pavlechko could meet in the quarters with a potential semifinal with Lanosga on the line.
The heavyweight rankings were most recently shaken up at Elite 8 Duals where Lanosga, Ferrell, Effendian, and Herrera all traded wins. Expect chaos at 285 lbs.
Predictions: 1) Daniel Herrera 2) Parker Ferrell 3) Spencer Lanosga 4) Mark Effendian 5) Nicholas Sahakian 6) Aidan Fockler 7) Rocco Dellagatta 8) Nick Pavlechko
