Two GLIAC Teams Headed To NCAA DII Women's Basketball Tournament
Grand Valley State and Michigan Tech will compete in the 2023 NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship.
Two GLIAC teams -- Grand Valley State and Michigan Tech -- are among the field of 64 that will compete in the 2023 NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship, the NCAA Division II Women’s Committee announced late on Sunday evening.
Hosted by No. 1 seed Ashland, all Midwest Region first round games will be played on Friday, March 10 at the home of the Eagles, Sherrill Hudson Court at Kates Gymnasium.
GLIAC Regular Season and Tournament champion Grand Valley State (29-2) will serve as the region's No. 3 seed. The Lakers will meet No. 6 Kentucky Wesleyan (23-6) at 12 p.m. ET.
Michigan Tech (25-6), the No. 4 seed, will face No. 5 Trevecca Nazarene (21-9) at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Saturday's (March 11) semifinals will be at 5 and 7:30 p.m., and the regional championship game will be Monday (March 13) at 7 p.m at Ashland.
The 2023 NCAA Division II Elite Eight and Final Four will be March 20 and 22, respectively, in St. Joseph, Mo., and the 2023 NCAA Division II Championship Game will be April 1 in Dallas, Texas.
