#1 David Carr vs #2 Keegan O'Toole Rematch Set For Big 12 Finals
Last month, David Carr and Keegan O'Toole met in perhaps the most anticipated match of the season. Tomorrow night at Big 12s, they'll rekindle the rivalry.
The Big 12 bracket at 165 lbs is the only conference bracket featuring two NCAA champions. David Carr, a 2021 NCAA champ at 157 lbs, and Keegan O'Toole, a 2022 champ at 165 lbs will square off in Sunday night's finals in perhaps the most highly anticipated rematch of the season.
When Carr and O'Toole met on February 15 in Columbia, Missouri, O'Toole was the consensus favorite. After all, he was the returning champ, and Carr was coming into O'Toole's weight class.
Carr, however, flipped the script on the nation's perceptions of the matchup by defeating O'Toole 7-2. Not only did Carr win the takedown battle in that match 2-1, he amassed over two minutes of riding time and didn't surrender an escape.
Chapter two in the series may look different. Both Carr and O'Toole said as much in their post-match interviews last month. Carr expects O'Toole to make strategic adjustments, and O'Toole is embracing the opportunity for another shot at Carr.

Both former NCAA champs have already navigated tough paths through the Big 12 championships to reach the final. Carr earned a 3-1 semifinal victory over West Virginia All-American Peyton Hall while O'Toole topped #7 ranked NDSU freshman Michael Caliendo 8-3 on the bottom half of the bracket. Tomorrow night in Tulsa, all eyes will be on #1 Carr vs #2 O'Toole.
