Tusculum guard Blayre Shultz has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played during Week 14 of the 2022-2023 season, the conference announced Monday. 

Shultz, a senior guard from Morristown, Tennessee, averaged 24.5 points per game, as the Pioneers earned wins over Carson-Newman (79-70) and Newberry (78-42). 

She scored a team-high 22 points and had five rebounds and five assists in the win over Carson-Newman, then scored a game-high 27 points with four assists and three steals against Newberry. 

Shultz hit four 3-pointers in both wins and shot 75% from the foul line (9-of-12) for the week.
