Lenoir-Rhyne guard Jalen Johnson has been named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played during Week 14 of the 2022-2023 season, the conference announced Monday.

Johnson, a junior from Durham, North Carolina, led the Bears to a 2-0 record last week, including a 70-59 win over No. 7 Lincoln Memorial. 

He averaged 21 points with five rebounds, 3.5 assists and three steals for the week, while shooting 50% from the field. 

Johnson scored 20 points and added eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 69-60 win over Anderson. 

He then poured in 22 points with two rebounds, four assists and four steals against Lincoln Memorial.
